What home charger does the Subaru Trailseeker need?

What to buy, 2026-2027
A 48 A charger on a 60 A circuit
Every Subaru Trailseeker from 2026 to 2027 accepts at most 11.0 kW (48 A) of AC power, whatever the trim. A bigger charger will not charge it any faster.

Why 48 amps and not more

At 48 A the Trailseeker adds 38 miles of range per hour. A 40 A charger brings that to 32, and a charger above 48 A adds nothing, since the car caps its own intake. For most owners, the difference between the two sizes will barely register.

2027274 to 281 mi387.4 h5
2026274 to 281 mi387.4 h5

Level 2 figures assume a charger that supplies the car's full rate. Where a year shows a range, it spans that year's trims.

The 2026 and 2027 models are identical at the plug. Each has 274 to 281 miles of range and fills from empty in about 7.4 hours, so a full charge fits comfortably inside one night. A used 2026 needs exactly the same equipment as a new 2027.

What the install involves

Plan for a permit and an inspection on the new 240 V circuit. The electrician fits a 60 A breaker and hardwires the charger, since no standard receptacle is rated for 48 A. If the panel can't take a 60 A circuit, a 40 A charger on a NEMA 14-50 outlet and a 50 A breaker is a good alternative. Mount the unit where the cable reaches the charge port with the car parked the way you normally leave it.
